Ideas rarely emerge fully formed.
Innovation begins with curiosity, possibility and exploration. Before solutions can be tested, implemented or scaled, possibilities must first be generated. The Explore stage of the 5E Design Thinking Framework creates opportunities to challenge assumptions, discover alternatives, develop concepts and imagine new futures.
Many people associate exploration with brainstorming. In reality, exploration is much broader. It involves creativity, opportunity identification, reframing, future thinking, storytelling, strategic imagination and concept development.
The Explore stage encourages people to move beyond obvious answers and consider multiple pathways forward.

What is the solution?
Explore encourages us to ask:
What might be possible?
This shift from certainty to possibility creates space for innovation, creativity and discovery.
At its core, Explore is about generating options before making decisions.
